The Happy Home Paradise DLC introduces a new currency to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Poki can be used at the resort or exchanged for Bells.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a new currency, Poki, which can be exchanged for Bells once the Poki ABD console is unlocked. Poki is the currency earned for building or remodeling vacation homes and facilities in the Happy Home Paradise DLC. However, while it can be spent on items at the resort, Poki has no value once players return to their home island. Players will need to build vacation houses and advance in their careers in order to unlock the ability to exchange Poki for Bells.
Players can build vacation homes in the Happy Home Paradise DLC by finding clients, choosing an island for them, and decorating their homes based on a predetermined theme. There are several milestones to reach that unlock new customization options, like using pillars and counters in ACNH. After working with enough clients, players will also unlock the ability to trade currencies.
The Happy Home Paradise DLC includes career advancements that players can achieve after building a certain number of homes. Once players have designed 25 vacation homes, Tom Nook will appear in the office. He explains that Nook Shopping furniture will be available for use in decorating homes. After this happens, and players return to the resort the next day, Lottie will state that she has installed the Poki ABD console. This machine is used to exchange Poki for Bells or vice versa.
Exchanging Poki for Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise
Players looking to exchange currencies should be aware that there is an allotted daily amount that can be traded. The exchange rate for trading Poki or Bells also fluctuates from day to day. The rate for Poki to Bells is always higher than Bells to Poki. On average, the Poki exchange rate is 100 Poki for between 220 and 350 Bells. However, both higher and lower rates have been reported by players.
The highest amount of Poki that can be traded each day is 15,000. For players looking to make the maximum number of Bells, the best thing to do is to wait for the exchange rate to be over 300. That means either checking back each day or time traveling in ACNH to find the highest exchange rates. Occasionally, players may find a rate over 400, so it's worth checking back daily for those that need a lot of Bells to pay back loans or open new shops on Harv's island.
Poki is the currency earned for designed vacation homes in the Happy Home Paradise DLC, and it can be traded for Bells after players unlock the Poki ABD terminal. The Poki exchange rates are usually around 300 Bells for 100 Poki. Alternatively, players can exchange Bells for Poki, but it will always be for less Poki, and there are easier ways to earn Poki fast in ACNH. Having this new exchange gives players another way to quickly earn Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
